Units Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten

For the Orange Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: In a bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. Dip chicken pieces in beaten egg, then coat with the cornstarch mixture.
  2. Air Fry the Chicken: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Place chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and cooked through.
  3. Make the Orange Sauce: In a saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Toss the cooked chicken in the orange sauce until well coated.
  5. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness or tanginess of the sauce to suit your taste by adding more honey or vinegar.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or sriracha to the sauce.
