Description

A healthier version of the classic Chicken Parmesan made in the air fryer, featuring crispy breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create 4 thinner cutlets.
  3. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  4. Dredge each piece in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Lightly spray both sides of breaded chicken with cooking spray.
  6. Place chicken in air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and top with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite side.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray again before the final cook with cheese.
