Description

Banana and Peanut Butter Chewy Sticks are a healthy, homemade dog treat made with just a few simple ingredients. These soft, chewy sticks are packed with natural flavor and perfect for your pup’s snack time or training rewards.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • Water, as needed (1-2 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed banana, peanut butter, and egg. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add flour and oats, and mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until pliable.
  4. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Cut into stick shapes or desired shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
  6. Place sticks on prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
  7. Let cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Ensure peanut butter is free from xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.
  • Always consult your vet before introducing new treats to your dog’s diet.
