BBQ Chicken is a classic and flavorful dish where chicken is marinated or basted with smoky, tangy barbecue sauce and grilled or baked to juicy, caramelized perfection—ideal for cookouts and family dinners.

- 2 lbs bone-in, skin-on chicken pieces (thighs, drumsticks, breasts)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix barbecue sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Reserve 1/3 cup of the sauce for basting or serving.
- Place chicken in a large bowl or zip-top bag and coat with the remaining sauce. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat grill to medium heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Grill or bake chicken for 35–45 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with reserved sauce during the last 10–15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is caramelized.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking or undercooking.
- Chicken can also be cooked in a grill pan or air fryer if needed.
- Serve with classic sides like coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans.
