Ingredients
-
1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced against the grain
-
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
-
2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
-
2 packs of instant ramen noodles (discard the seasoning packet)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated or minced
-
1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
-
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
-
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
-
1 teaspoon sesame oil
-
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
-
2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
-
2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Cook the ramen: Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to package directions, about 3–4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
-
Cook the beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
-
Stir-fry the broccoli: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until they’re tender-crisp. Add the garlic and ginger, and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
-
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) until combined.
-
Combine everything: Add the cooked beef and ramen noodles back into the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce over the mixture and toss everything together to coat evenly. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes to heat everything through.
-
Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions (if desired). Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
-
For extra veggies, you can add bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas to the stir-fry.
-
You can use any cut of beef you prefer, but flank steak or sirloin work best because they’re tender and cook quickly.
-
To make it spicier, increase the red pepper flakes or drizzle with some chili oil.
