Ingredients
-
1 lb ground beef
-
12 oz rotini pasta
-
3 tbsp butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
-
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
-
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
-
Olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
-
Cook the rotini pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set beef aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
-
Stir in the flour and cook for another minute to make a roux.
-
Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
-
Bring to a gentle simmer and let it thicken for 3–5 minutes.
-
Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth and creamy.
-
Add the cooked beef and rotini pasta into the sauce. Stir to combine and heat through.
-
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
-
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
-
Add steamed broccoli or spinach for extra veggies.
-
Adjust seasoning to taste—more garlic or chili flakes if you like some heat.
