Beef Lo Mein is a flavorful and satisfying stir-fry noodle dish featuring tender slices of beef, crisp vegetables, and lo mein noodles tossed in a savory soy-based sauce—perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

- 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating beef)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (for marinating beef)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (for sauce)
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining oil. Add broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add garlic, ginger, and green onions. Cook for 1 more minute.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and sugar.
- Return beef to the pan along with the cooked noodles. Pour in sauce and toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra green onions if desired.
Notes
- Slice beef very thin for quick cooking and tenderness.
- Feel free to use frozen stir-fry vegetables for convenience.
- This dish is also great with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
