- Tostadas:
- 8 corn tostada shells
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing, optional)
- Beef & Bean Layer:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 (15 oz) can refried beans
- Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 avocado, sliced or mashed
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Lime wedges (for serving)
- Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the Tostadas (if using soft corn tortillas):
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Brush tortillas lightly with olive oil and bake on a sheet pan for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Let cool.
- Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add taco seasoning and water, stirring to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Warm the Beans:
- Heat refried beans in a small saucepan over low heat until smooth and warm.
- Assemble the Tostadas:
- Spread a spoonful of warm refried beans on each tostada shell. Add a layer of seasoned beef. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cheese, avocado, sour cream, and cilantro.
- Serve:
- Squeeze fresh lime juice on top and add hot sauce if desired. Serve immediately!

- You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or shredded chicken.
- Use store-bought tostada shells to save time.
