Description

A refreshing and naturally sweetened Blueberry Iced Tea perfect for warm days, combining the rich flavors of black tea, fresh blueberries, and zesty lemon juice, served chilled with ice and a hint of mint.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

Fruit & Flavorings

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Serving

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Blueberries: Rinse blueberries under cool running water and pat them dry gently to remove any dirt or impurities.
  2. Brew Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the 3 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes for optimal strength.
  3. Sweeten Tea: While the tea is still warm, stir in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
  4. Add Fruits and Lemon: Stir in the fresh blueberries and 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice into the warm tea mixture. Allow this mixture to sit for 10 minutes so the flavors can meld.
  5. Chill Tea: Fill a large pitcher with ice cubes. Pour the blueberry-tea mixture over the ice to chill it quickly, then stir gently to combine everything evenly.
  6. Serve: Pour the iced tea into glasses filled with ice. Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a few floating blueberries for a beautiful and flavorful presentation. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar to suit your taste or substitute with honey or a sugar alternative for a healthier version.
  • For stronger blueberry flavor, muddle some blueberries before adding them to the tea.
  • Use frozen blueberries if fresh are not available; they will also chill the tea further.
  • If you prefer a less tart beverage, reduce the lemon juice amount slightly.
  • This tea is best consumed within 24 hours when kept refrigerated.
