Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1/3 cup buffalo sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Rolls & Topping
- 8 soft dinner rolls or slider buns
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
Serving
- Ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Filling: Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, chopped green onions, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Prepare Rolls: Slice the tops off the dinner rolls carefully, keeping the bottoms intact. Hollow out some of the inside bread to create space for the filling without breaking the rolls.
- Stuff Rolls: Fill each hollowed roll with the buffalo chicken mixture, packing it evenly inside each one to ensure every bite has a good amount of filling.
- Arrange and Top Rolls: Grease a baking dish lightly. Place the stuffed rolls upright in the dish. Brush the tops of each roll with melted butter and sprinkle with dried parsley if using, for added flavor and color.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil to keep moisture inside and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. This allows the filling to heat through and the flavors to meld.
- Uncover and Finish Baking: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly, ensuring the cheese melts perfectly and the rolls have a slight crisp on top.
- Serve: Serve the buffalo chicken stuffed rolls warm with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping, enhancing the spicy and creamy flavors.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for quick and easy preparation.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to control the heat level according to your preference.
- These rolls can be prepared ahead and baked fresh just before serving to save time.
