Description

Bunny Butt Oreo Balls are an adorable and delicious treat for Easter! Made with crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and a smooth coating of white chocolate, these little treats are shaped to look like bunny butts, complete with marshmallow “tails.” They’re fun to make and even more fun to eat!

Ingredients

  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies (regular or family-size)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips (or white chocolate coating wafers)

  • 1/4 cup pink candy melts (or pink food coloring, if using white chocolate)

  • 12 mini marshmallows (for the tails)

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for melting chocolate, optional)

Instructions

Make the Oreo Balls:

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they’re finely crushed into crumbs. Alternatively, you can place the cookies in a large Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

  2. Combine with cream cheese: In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Use your hands or a spoon to mix until everything is well combined. The mixture should be thick and sticky.

  3. Form the balls: Roll the Oreo mixture into balls about 1-inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Chill the balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Decorate the Bunny Butts:

  1. Melt the white chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If the chocolate is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to thin it out and make it easier to dip.

  2. Coat the Oreo balls: Once the Oreo balls are chilled, dip each one into the melted white chocolate, making sure they’re completely coated. Use a fork to lift them out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place them back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. Make the bunny tails: While the white chocolate is still soft, take a mini marshmallow and cut it in half. Press one half into the bottom center of each Oreo ball to create the bunny tail. You can also use pink candy melts or food coloring to color the marshmallow halves pink for a cute touch.

  4. Add the bunny feet: Using the pink candy melts, melt them in the microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth. Transfer the melted candy melts to a small piping bag or a plastic bag with the tip cut off, and pipe small pink feet on the bottom of each Oreo ball to resemble bunny paws. You can also use pink food coloring if you prefer.

  5. Chill again: Place the decorated Bunny Butt Oreo Balls back in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes to let the chocolate set and the tails harden.

Serve:

  1. Enjoy: Once the chocolate has set and everything is firm, your Bunny Butt Oreo Balls are ready to be enjoyed! Serve them on a plate or gift them to friends and family as an adorable homemade Easter treat.

Notes

  • For added fun, you can use white candy melts for the coating and dye the marshmallows or the chocolate for different colors.

  • You can store the Oreo balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

  • If you want a smoother coating, you can dip the balls twice, letting them set between layers.
