- 2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread apple pie filling evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over the apple filling and drizzle with caramel sauce.
- Evenly sprinkle dry cake mix over the top of the apple mixture.
- Pour melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
