- 1 lb ground beef
- 12 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well to combine with the sauce.
- Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until melted and evenly distributed.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Can be prepared ahead and reheated for a quick meal.
- Add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
