This Cheesy Beef and Pasta Casserole is a comforting and flavorful dish that is perfect for a family dinner. Layers of pasta, seasoned beef, marinara sauce, and two types of cheese are baked to gooey perfection, creating a hearty and satisfying meal.

Pasta:

  • 12 oz pasta (rotini or penne)

Beef Mixture:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Cheese:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook pasta: Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. Cook beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef with onion until browned. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream.
  4. Layer ingredients: In a greased baking dish, layer half of the pasta, beef mixture, and cheeses. Repeat layers. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
