Ingredients
-
1 lb ground chicken
-
1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
-
1/4 cup grated carrots
-
1/4 cup chopped green onions
-
1 tbsp minced ginger
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp sesame oil
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
-
4 hamburger buns
-
2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
-
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, cabbage, grated carrots, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well incorporated.
-
Divide the chicken mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
-
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken patties to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until the patties are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
-
Toast the hamburger buns lightly in the skillet or oven while the patties cook, if desired.
-
Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun.
-
Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with a side of soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
-
You can add a slice of cheese to the burgers during the last minute of cooking for a melty topping.
-
If you prefer, you can make these burgers on the grill instead of using a skillet.
-
For extra flavor, top with pickled vegetables or shredded lettuce.
