Description

These Chicken Dumpling Burgers are a fun twist on traditional dumplings and burgers! Made with ground chicken, a mix of classic dumpling ingredients, and served in a bun, these burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfect for a unique meal. They are served with a soy-based dipping sauce for an extra layer of deliciousness.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage

  • 1/4 cup grated carrots

  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

  • 1 tbsp minced ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, cabbage, grated carrots, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well incorporated.

  2. Divide the chicken mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.

  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  4. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken patties to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until the patties are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

  5. Toast the hamburger buns lightly in the skillet or oven while the patties cook, if desired.

  6. Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun.

  7. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with a side of soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can add a slice of cheese to the burgers during the last minute of cooking for a melty topping.

  • If you prefer, you can make these burgers on the grill instead of using a skillet.

  • For extra flavor, top with pickled vegetables or shredded lettuce.
