Description

These chocolate peanut butter cookies are rich, fudgy, and perfectly balanced between sweet chocolate and creamy peanut butter. They come together in one bowl and bake in minutes—great for when you need a quick cookie fix or a simple homemade treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.

  6. Fold in chocolate chips if using.

  7. Scoop dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place on prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly with your fingers or a fork.

  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are still soft.

  9. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra peanut butter flavor, press a few peanut butter chips into the tops before baking.

  • Dough can be chilled for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
