Ingredients
For the Base:
-
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
-
1/2 cup powdered sugar
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 cup creamy peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
For the Chocolate Topping:
-
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
Prepare the Base:
-
Make the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar. Stir in the melted butter and 1 cup of peanut butter until the mixture is well combined and crumbly.
-
Press into pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Press the peanut butter mixture firmly into the bottom of the dish, making sure it’s evenly spread out.
Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
-
Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
-
Spread the chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter base and use a spatula to spread it evenly across the top.
Set the Bars:
-
Chill the bars: Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate topping has set and the bars are firm.
-
Cut and serve: Once chilled, remove the bars from the refrigerator and cut them into squares. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
-
For extra flavor, you can sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the chocolate before refrigerating.
