Ingredients
-
8 oz medium pasta shells
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1 small onion, diced
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
1/2 teaspoon paprika
-
1/2 teaspoon salt (more to taste)
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1/2 cup sour cream or heavy cream
Instructions
-
Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
-
Add onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
-
Stir in Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 1 minute.
-
Slowly pour in beef broth and milk, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3–4 minutes.
-
Reduce heat to low and stir in cheddar cheese, Parmesan, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy.
-
Add the cooked pasta and stir until fully coated in the sauce.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
-
Swap in ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
-
Add cooked spinach, mushrooms, or peas for extra veggies.
-
Leftovers reheat well—just add a splash of milk when warming up.
