Ingredients
-
8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
-
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (divided)
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
2 tablespoons butter
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
1/2 cup chicken broth
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
-
In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir in Parmesan cheese, paprika, remaining Cajun seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Return the shrimp to the pan, along with the cooked pasta. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
-
You can swap shrimp for chicken or sausage for a different twist.
-
Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
-
Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
