1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
-
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
-
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
-
Slowly whisk in the milk and cream, making sure there are no lumps.
-
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
-
Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
-
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
-
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
-
For extra protein, top with grilled chicken, sautéed shrimp, or crispy bacon.
-
You can use half-and-half instead of milk and cream if you prefer.
-
Add steamed broccoli or spinach to sneak in some greens.
