Description

A tangy, creamy, and savory appetizer made with cream cheese, cheddar, and chopped dill pickles, rolled into bite-sized cheese balls and coated in crunchy toppings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, crushed pretzels, or crushed crackers for coating

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  3. Once chilled, use a small scoop or spoon to portion the mixture and roll into bite-sized balls.
  4. Roll each ball in your choice of coating (pecans, pretzels, or crackers) until fully covered.
  5. Place the cheese balls on a serving tray and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Customize the coating for extra crunch or flavor—try crushed bacon, herbs, or sesame seeds.
  • For a spicy kick, mix in a dash of hot sauce or chopped jalapeños.
  • Great make-ahead appetizer—store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
