Cake:
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 box (15.25 oz) German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
Cream Cheese Filling:
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer Base: Sprinkle shredded coconut and chopped pecans over the bottom of the pan.
- Prepare Cake: Mix German chocolate cake batter as per instructions and pour over the coconut and pecans.
- Make Filling: Beat cream cheese, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drop spoonfuls over the cake batter without spreading.
- Add Topping: Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
