Description

A classic, hearty, and easy-to-make lasagna recipe layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted cheese. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  7. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, then layer noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or sausage for ground beef.
  • Use oven-ready noodles for quicker prep.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen.
