A classic, hearty, and easy-to-make lasagna recipe layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted cheese. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, then layer noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or sausage for ground beef.
- Use oven-ready noodles for quicker prep.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen.
