Description

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: white chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, stirring constantly until it foams and turns golden brown with a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix browned butter with brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a dough forms. Fold in white chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  6. Cover dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
