Description

A flavorful Moroccan-inspired fish dish with aromatic spices and garlic, perfect for a healthy and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the garlic, olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper (if using) to form a spice paste.
  3. Rub the spice paste over the fish fillets, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Place the fish fillets in a baking dish, and top with lemon slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Bake the fish in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with couscous or a side of roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • This dish pairs well with a light, crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper based on your spice preference.
