Description

A gourmet twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring creamy goat cheese, a touch of honey, and a hint of spice for a sweet and savory flavor profile.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 slices of sourdough or rustic bread
  • 2 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp butter, for grilling

Instructions

  1. Spread the softened goat cheese evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Drizzle honey over the goat cheese and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  3. Assemble the sandwich by placing the slices together, cheese sides in.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill until golden brown on one side, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip and grill the other side until golden and the cheese is warmed through, another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute sourdough with whole grain or gluten-free bread as desired.
  • Try adding arugula or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • Adjust the level of spice to your preference by varying the amount of red pepper flakes.
