Description
Heaven On Earth Cake is a dreamy, no-bake dessert made with layers of angel food cake, cherry pie filling, creamy vanilla pudding, and whipped topping. It’s cool, fluffy, and sweet—with just the right amount of tang from the cherries. A true crowd-pleaser that lives up to its name!
Ingredients
-
1 (14 oz) store-bought angel food cake (or homemade), cut into cubes
-
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
-
1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
-
1 1/2 cups cold milk
-
1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
-
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
-
Optional: slivered almonds or crushed graham crackers for topping
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 1–2 minutes). Stir in sour cream until smooth. Set aside.
-
Layer half of the angel food cake cubes in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
-
Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake layer.
-
Add the remaining cake cubes, followed by the rest of the cherry pie filling.
-
Pour the pudding mixture evenly over the top of the cake and cherries.
-
Spread whipped topping over everything, smoothing it out with a spatula.
-
Optional: Sprinkle with slivered almonds or crushed graham crackers for a little crunch.
-
Chill for at least 4 hours (or overnight) before serving to let everything set and flavors meld.
Notes
-
Try it with different pie fillings—blueberry, strawberry, or lemon are all amazing!
-
For a richer twist, mix cream cheese into the pudding layer.
-
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
