Description

This Homemade Creamy Caesar Salad is the perfect balance of crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, and a rich, creamy dressing. Made from scratch with real ingredients like Parmesan, garlic, and anchovies, this Caesar salad is a fresh and flavorful take on the classic. Perfect as a side dish or even a main course!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped

  • 1 cup croutons (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Creamy Caesar Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 anchovy fillets (or 1 tablespoon anchovy paste)

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic, anchovies, Worcestershire sauce, and Parmesan cheese.

    • Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while continuing to whisk until the dressing is smooth and creamy.

    • Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.

  • Assemble the Salad:

    • In a large bowl, toss the chopped romaine lettuce with the creamy Caesar dressing, making sure all the leaves are evenly coated.

    • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the salad and toss again to combine.

  • Serve:

    • Top the salad with croutons and serve immediately. For extra flavor, you can add a few extra shavings of Parmesan cheese on top.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute half of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or use a low-fat mayonnaise.

  • If you prefer a garlic-less dressing, you can omit the garlic or reduce the amount used.

  • You can make your own homemade croutons by toasting cubed bread in a bit of olive oil, salt, and garlic powder until golden brown.
