- 4 slices whole grain or sourdough bread
- 6 oz sliced deli turkey breast
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 2 tbsp honey mustard
- 2 slices provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)
- 4 leaves romaine or green leaf lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp butter or mayonnaise (optional, for toasting)
Instructions
- If desired, lightly toast the bread or spread with butter and grill until golden.
- Spread honey mustard evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer turkey, cheese (if using), avocado slices, tomato, and lettuce on two of the bread slices. Season with salt and pepper.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, honey mustard side down.
- Slice in half and serve immediately. Optional: Secure with sandwich picks for easier handling.

- Use a panini press for a warm, melty version.
