Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 (16-ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 2–3 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Topping
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Make the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, finely chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, and salt. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed and creamy.
- Roll out the dough: Unroll the refrigerated pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently stretch it into a large rectangle approximately 14 by 10 inches to create an even base for the filling.
- Spread the filling: Evenly spread the jalapeño popper filling over the dough, leaving about a ½-inch border around all edges to help seal the roll when rolled up.
- Roll and slice: Starting from the long edge closest to you, roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 12 equal pieces for uniform rolls.
- Arrange and butter: Place the 12 rolls cut side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with smoked paprika if using, to add color and smoky flavor.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top and the filling is bubbly and melted.
- Cool and garnish: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool slightly to set. Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a fresh, herbal contrast. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra heat, you can leave the seeds in the jalapeños or substitute with pickled jalapeños to add a tangy kick.
- These rolls make a perfect party appetizer or game-day snack and can be made ahead and reheated.
- To make this recipe vegetarian, omit the bacon or substitute with vegetarian bacon alternatives.
