Description

London Broil is a classic beef dish made with a marinated top round steak that’s broiled or grilled to juicy, tender perfection. It’s packed with flavor and super easy to make with just a few ingredients. Slice it thin across the grain and serve with veggies or potatoes for a simple, hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs top round steak (or flank steak)

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, brown sugar, black pepper, oregano, and onion powder.

  • Place the steak in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over the meat, seal or cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

  • Remove steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature while you preheat the broiler or grill.

  • Broil or grill the steak on high heat for 5–6 minutes per side, or until desired doneness (135°F for medium-rare).

  • Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Cut thinly against the grain.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve.

Notes

  • Always slice London Broil thinly and against the grain to keep it tender.

  • Marinating overnight gives the best flavor and texture.

  • Pairs well with roasted potatoes, grilled veggies, or a simple green salad.
