Description

Philly Cheese Beef Skillet is a quick and cheesy one-pan dinner inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak, made with seasoned ground beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melty provolone cheese over tender pasta or rice.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups cooked pasta or rice (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, heat olive oil. Add sliced peppers and onions, and sauté for 5–6 minutes until soft.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Reduce heat to low and sprinkle cheese over the top. Cover and let sit for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
  6. Serve as is, or over cooked pasta or rice. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use provolone cheese for the most authentic Philly flavor.
  • Great with hoagie rolls for a sandwich-style twist.
  • Can be made low-carb by skipping the pasta or rice.
