Description
Pizza grilled cheese combines everything you love about pizza—melty cheese, savory sauce, and pepperoni—tucked between two golden, buttery slices of bread. It’s quick, easy, and totally satisfying. Perfect for kids, adults, and anyone craving pizza without the wait.
Ingredients
-
4 slices white or sourdough bread
-
2 tablespoons butter, softened
-
4 tablespoons pizza sauce or marinara
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
12-16 slices mini pepperoni (or regular pepperoni, chopped)
-
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
-
Dried oregano or Italian seasoning, for garnish
Instructions
-
Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
-
Flip the bread over and spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice.
-
On two slices, layer half of the mozzarella, add pepperoni, then top with the rest of the mozzarella.
-
Sprinkle with a pinch of oregano or Italian seasoning, and Parmesan if using.
-
Top with the remaining bread slices, sauce-side in and butter-side out.
-
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
-
Let rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
-
Add cooked mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers for a veggie-packed version.
-
Swap mozzarella for provolone or a pizza cheese blend if you like.
-
Great served with a side of marinara for dipping!
