Description
Puff Pastry Nutella Twists are buttery, flaky pastries filled with creamy Nutella and baked until golden and crisp. These easy twists take just minutes to prep and look as good as they taste. Great for parties, holiday trays, or a quick chocolate fix!
Ingredients
-
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
-
1/4 cup Nutella or chocolate-hazelnut spread
-
1 egg
-
1 tablespoon water
-
1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional)
-
Optional: powdered sugar, for dusting after baking
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
-
Spread Nutella evenly over half of the puff pastry sheet.
-
Fold the other half of the pastry over the Nutella side and gently press down.
-
Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice into 1-inch wide strips.
-
Twist each strip a few times and place on the baking sheet, spaced apart.
-
In a small bowl, whisk the egg with water. Brush the egg wash over each twist.
-
Sprinkle with granulated sugar, if using, for extra crunch.
-
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
-
Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
-
Use a light hand when spreading Nutella so it doesn’t squeeze out while twisting.
-
These are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1–2 days.
-
Add a sprinkle of chopped hazelnuts or a touch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
