Description

A fun and fruity twist on a classic snack, this Strawberry Popcorn is sweet, colorful, and perfect for parties or movie nights.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 cups plain popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (3 oz) package strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  4. Stir in the sugar, strawberry gelatin, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Once boiling, continue to cook for 3–4 minutes without stirring.
  6. Remove from heat and immediately pour the strawberry mixture over the popcorn. Stir to coat evenly.
  7. Spread the coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Break into clusters and serve.

Notes

  • Use a silicone spatula to stir the popcorn to avoid sticking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Try using different flavored gelatins for variety.
