Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Truffle Mixture
- 2 cups crushed sugar cookies (about 10-12 sugar cookies)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
Coating and Decoration
- 1 bag (10 oz) vanilla flavored melting wafers
- Red & green sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare Cookie Truffle Mixture: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or tin foil. Using a food processor, crush the sugar cookies into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until the cookie crumbs and cream cheese are well combined into a uniform dough.
- Form Truffle Balls: Scoop and roll the mixture into balls about 1 tablespoon in size. Place the balls evenly spaced on the prepared cookie sheet. Freeze the balls for 10 minutes to firm up for coating.
- Coat Truffles: Melt the vanilla flavored melting wafers according to the package instructions, ensuring a smooth, liquid consistency. Using a fork, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted wafers to fully coat. Place the coated truffles back onto the cookie sheet. Drizzle with any remaining melted wafers and immediately sprinkle with red and green decorations.
- Chill and Serve: Place the coated truffles in the freezer for 5 minutes to set the coating. Transfer the truffles to the refrigerator for storage until ready to serve. Enjoy chilled for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- For best results, soften cream cheese at room temperature to ensure smooth mixing.
- If you do not have a food processor, place cookies in a sealable bag and crush finely with a rolling pin.
- Melting wafers can be substituted with white chocolate chips if desired, just adjust melting time accordingly.
- Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
