Description

These Sweet and Spicy Korean Gochujang Noodles are a flavorful twist on a classic dish. The combination of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors will have your taste buds dancing with delight. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal or for impressing guests at a dinner party.


Ingredients

Noodles:

  • 8 oz Korean wheat noodles
  • Water for boiling
  • Salt to taste

Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp Gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated

Vegetables:

  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Boil water with salt and cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make Sauce: In a bowl, mix Gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: In a pan, heat vegetable oil and sauté bell peppers and snow peas until tender-crisp.
  4. Combine: Add the cooked noodles and sauce to the pan with vegetables. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less Gochujang.
  • Feel free to add protein of your choice like tofu, chicken, or shrimp.
  • For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.
