Description

Tater Tot Hotdish is a hearty, all-in-one casserole made with ground beef, creamy soup, mixed veggies, and crispy tater tots on top. It’s a simple, satisfying dish that’s perfect for feeding a hungry family or bringing to a potluck. Minimal prep, maximum comfort!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 (12-ounce) bag frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, green beans)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 (28-32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

  • Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, frozen vegetables, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

  • Arrange tater tots in a single layer over the top of the beef mixture.

  • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until the tots are golden and crispy.

  • If using cheese, sprinkle it over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking.

  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can swap in cream of chicken or cream of celery soup if you prefer.

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef while it cooks.

  • Leftovers reheat well and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
